The Performance Land Use Ordinance is intended to govern the use of land according to regulations based on performance in a manner that provides for compatibility, minimizing land use conflicts, sustaining property values, promoting economic development and enhancing community appearance.

The ordinance was passed unanimously by the Carencro City Council on January 20, 2009, following two public hearings and several months of review.
